The Great Wave Off Kanagwa is one of the most famous and iconic wood-block prints ever. A display of the stunning oceans power with Mt. Fuji’s peak in the back drop. The work was created by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai and first published approximately in 1830 as part of his larger collection of Thirty Six Views of Mt. Fuji. This form of wood block print art is known as Ukiyo-e which flourished in Japan from the 17th through 19th centuries.
